FAQ FOR UNIX USERS

Question? When I come in, in the morning, the Display reads End of Day not complete stopped at step...

The following are common End of Day errors and some helpful resolutions.

1. Step #3 UNIX Operating System

Retrieve the EOD error report from your system printer.

A. Error Code 8101 on the system printer.

1. Make sure A/C 99 was run on the Master Register.
2. Check to make sure End Of Day was not already completed on MEI
3. Login to sposs35
4. Option C Register Reporting
5. Option C Historical Register Reports
6. Enter today's date for a starting date and Enter through the other fields
7. Select Hourly report (only because it is the easiest to check)
8. Enter to last page and check EOD processing times for the reports. If Yesterdays date, and a late time appear, or today's date with and early time appear the information was already retrieved to sposs35
9. Reset you EOD Processing Steps.

B. Error code 3452 on the system printer.

1. Log out any checker signed into the master and backup master and lock both master and backup.
2. Restart EOD on PC

Error code 4011 on the system printer

1. Login to the UNIX system as root
2. Enter your root password if you have one. (Please note this is not set up by MEISolutions and will not necessarily be known by your MEISolutions support tech.)
3. Reboot your system with init 0 (Please note that if you have a debit/credit system this may stop that process while the system is rebooted. MEISolutions recommends you contact your register/hardware support before rebooting the system.)

2. Step #4 UNIX Operating System:

Retrieve the EOD error report from your system printer.

A. Error Code 8101

1. You need to check to see if the system has pulled the Primary ItemDC file.
2. If File 1000 has a Status of 0000 then call MEISolutions Support
3. If the Primary ItemDC or File 1000 displays the error then you need to contact you NCR dealer.
4. If the error was the Secondary ItemDC or File 1001, you need to contact MEISolutions to finish your EOD. Then contact your NCR dealer.

3. Step #5 UNIX Operating System:

If PC screen says End Of Day stopped on step 5, contact MEISolutions support to rebuild your financials.

4. Step #12 UNIX Operating System:

Retrieve EOD error report from system printer.

A. Error code 4011

1. Login to the UNIX system as root
2. Enter your root password if you have one. (Please note this is not set up by MEISolutions and will not necessarily be known by your MEISolutions support tech.)
3. Reboot your system with init 0 (Please note that if you have a debit/credit system this may stop that process while the system is rebooted. MEISolutions recommends you contact your register/hardware support before rebooting the system.)
4. Re-start EOD on pc.
5. If EOD should stop again try a Master Reset on the Master register and reboot the PC. (You should contact your NCR dealer before performing a Master reset on the 2127.)
6. Re-Start EOD when both Master and PC are back online.
