TOTAL SAVINGS

Total Savings is an MEISolutions SuperPOSS 2002 feature that, in conjunction with a User Exit developed by Dumac Business Systems, offers a new savings total solution for the NCR 2127 (Rel.3.50). It allows you to show your customers a total of all the savings they received by shopping at your store. This program is designed for retailers who simply wish to show a total savings amount on the customer’s receipt without the use of frequent shopper cards.

How it Works:
Total Savings for SuperPOSS will automatically calculate a savings amount when a sale batch (batch with expiration date) is sent to the front end. This savings total will appear on the customer’s receipt tape. When the sale batch expires, the PULL batch will automatically remove the savings amount from the register. The savings amount is not a stored field and is calculated prior to batch application. The savings amount only appears in the batch print/display report.

Dumac User Exit:
The User Exit program is set up similar to a frequent shopper program. An item in the alternate price field that has a value greater than that in the regular price field on the register will indicate a savings for that item. For a limited quantity discount or a mix/match discount, that savings amount will also be included. The savings message printed after the item is not itself a discount, and does not affect the sales total. This program will not produce any transaction buffer issues as sometimes seen with sizable orders that have a large number of frequent shopper items.

The savings message under each item and the recap messages at the bottom of the receipt are customized for your particular program.(Note: The wording you wish to use will need to be known when your order is placed.)

Note: This User Exit for the Total Savings feature can be merged with any other Dumac user exit. If you currently have a user exit from another source, Dumac will need to determine the feasibility of merging the two programs.

  • All registers must be configured for alternate price and have Frequent Buyer turned off at the PC and register.

  • MEISolutions SuperPOSS Rel. 5.3x
